The City has asked us to invite you to a free workshop for food service establishments and food manufacturing/processors.  On Thursday, September 25, the city is hosting a workshop for you to learn about new regulations to reduce sewer system overflows associated with fats, oils and grease used in daily operations.

Please RSVP to the City of Elk River Wastewater Division at 763-635-1171.

Topics include: the Federal Clean Water Act & City Ordinance 78-156, restaurant grease and environmental concerns, reducing grease through effective kitchen best management practices and learning about required responsibilities and compliance requirements which take effect November 1, 2014.

Shop weekly on Thursdays starting June 26 through October 2 from 2-6 p.m. in downtown Elk River next the Elk River Meat Market.

New free kids programs during the market this year! The Parks and Recreation Department will be providing a fun and unique craft project for the first 50 kids a the market each week.

Children 12 and under can also enjoy the "Market Sprouts" program. Pick up a "Passport to Health" at the Parks and Recreation table and complete the challenges to turn in for a fun summer surprise!

Sep 30    Engineers: They Don't Just Drive Trains
There are so many people out there who don't know much about engineering. This event will tell you what you need to know.  There are countless types of engineers, and each engineering field has countless career options. This event will consist of 5 speakers, each from different engineering fields.

There will be build-your-own tacos for a light dinner and a prize drawing where you can win some awesome prizes! All profits will fund an app development class that will be offered in the fall of 2015. RSVP on the Facebook event and like the page.
