Shop weekly on Thursdays starting June 26 through October 2 from 2-6 p.m. in downtown Elk River next the Elk River Meat Market.

New free kids programs during the market this year! The Parks and Recreation Department will be providing a fun and unique craft project for the first 50 kids a the market each week.

Children 12 and under can also enjoy the "Market Sprouts" program. Pick up a "Passport to Health" at the Parks and Recreation table and complete the challenges to turn in for a fun summer surprise!

Oct 4    Thumbs Up High 5K Run/Walk/Bike/Blade Event

The 1st annual Thumbs Up High 5K race will begin in the Historic Downtown Elk River at McCoy's Irish Pub. The course will run along beautiful Lake Orono during the peak of autumn. There are no major hills and just a few curves as the course follows the lake and back to Downtown Elk River.  The event also includes a free t-shirt, wrist band, and post-race festival complete with live music, kids bounce houses, face-painting, crazy hair, many local vendors and a 1K run for the kiddos!   Let's join together to support mental health and suicide awareness in our community.  All of the funds raised will go to the Yellow Ribbon Group at the Elk River High School - which supports mental health and suicide awareness to the youth in our community.

Course will Run from Historic Downtown Elk River Main Street towards Lake Orono, turn left onto Mississippi Road NW, turn right onto Boston Street NW, Right onto Orono Road NW, then a left onto Mississippi Road NW, and finally a right back onto Main Street towards Downtown Elk River.  The finish line is at the intersection of Main Street and Jackson. 

There will be ample parking downtown and if we feel the need for shuttle buses we will let you know!

Please bring your event pre-registration receipt if you register online.  

Dress for the weather, wear layers.  

* Race cancellation and weather policy:  Event may be dalayed, shortened or in rare circumstances cancelled, in the event of inclement weather including lightening, wind, heat, snow, or the threat of eminent severe weather which may harm or injure participants, staff, set up crew, and bystanders.  Event time frame includes setup, race and tear down.  All possible attempts will be made to contact those involved by email, website, and social meda.  No refunds or transfers allowed.

Animals of all kinds will be blessed in a special service open to anyone who is a pet owner. There will be a short service of scripture readings and each animal will be individually blessed.
