When did we STOP seeing School Kids and start seeing TAX BURDENS?
Minnesota’s public schools urgently need YOUR support and ideas
ISD 728’s Legislative Action Team invites you to become educated and engaged advocates for public education. Mary Cecconi, Executive Director of Parents United for Public Schools will be in ISD 728 on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 7-8:30 p.m. in Elk River High School’s Community Room
Mary’s engaging presentation will help you get past the myths to the realities of what’s facing public education: declining funding in the midst of rapidly rising costs and increased expectations at both the local and state levels. Mary has championed children as a teacher, school board member, parent volunteer, levy campaign chair, statewide legislative committee member and volunteer parent lobbyist. You’ll gain an understanding of how you can take action and get involved right here in ISD 728 to advocate, communicate and organize to bring your collective voices to your community leaders and elected officials.
Parents United for Public Education exists to unite and empower those who value public education in Minnesota to be strong advocates for excellence in our public schools.
This event is sponsored by ISD 728’s Legislative Action Team and the ISD 728 Parent Involvement Committee.
