Public Service Specialist (part-time), Health Promotions

Job Summary

 

This position will be working 32 hours per week and will provide administrative and program support for the Health Promotion Unit of the Health and Human Services Department.

 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Examples of typical duties include but are not limited to the following. Regular attendance according to the department approved work schedule is required for all Sherburne County positions.

  • Provide primary administrative and program support.
  • Program support for the Car Seat Program to include (but not limited to): scheduling, verifying eligibility, assembly of materials, classroom set-up and check-in.
  • Provide program support as needed to WIC clinic.  
  • Create documents and forms within the PH Docs system.
  • Compose routine correspondence with staff and clients as needed.
  • Scan documents into an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
  • Enter and verify correct information for clients in varying databases.
  • Attend general staff meetings and unit meetings.  Attend conferences and other staff development workshops and training.
  • Respond 24/7 as needed during a Public Health emergency.

 


Minimum Qualifications

 

Education:  High school diploma/GED

Experience: 3 years relevant (office/clerical/reception) work experience.

Desirable qualifications include experience/training with: Office experience in a Public Health/Health Care setting. Experience with Electronic Health Record systems. Bilingual with a preference in Somali.

Starting Salary
$19.91/hour - part-time 32 hours per week, union position

Hours of Work 
This position has a usual work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; may include occasional evening and weekend hours.
