Job Summary

This position will be posted until filled.  

Full-time, temporary position on a seasonal basis not to exceed 67 working days, or not more than 100 working days in any calendar year if the employee is under the age of 22 and is a full-time student enrolled in a nonprofit or public education institution prior to being hired.

Location: Sherburne Public Works Facility, 10705 125th Ave SE, Becker, MN 55308
Regular Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., but may vary. Starting as early as mid-May.

Position is not eligible for benefits except as mandated by State and Federal law.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical duties for the Highway Maintenance Seasonal employee include, but are not limited to the following:

• Patching and crack-filling of bituminous roadways
• Bush and tree cutting in the county road right-of-way
• Dead animal removal and ditch cleaning
• Traffic control for road maintenance operations
• Building, grounds and equipment maintenance

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid MN Driver's License.

Must be able to engage in strenuous physical activities and work in temperature extremes.

Must pass a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug test.
