Quality Technician 

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for monitoring product quality and ensuring all product produced meets all food safety and food quality policies & standards. Also, assists with the execution of other Quality related tasks. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Follow all quality procedures and participate in new hire training as needed. 

  • Ensure all samples are submitted to 3rd party lab as needed for both product and environmental testing. 

  • Conducts regular quality checks to ensure finished goods meet product specifications.  

  • Responds to any out-of-specification products on the floor. 

  • Helps monitor in progress production & changeovers, ensuring no risk of comingling products.  

  • Maintains the facility by auditing processes and policy execution. 

  • Assists in execution of Food Safety Audits 

  • Provides coaching on non-compliance with GMPs or PPE policy.  

  • Is knowledgeable of the lot coding system and expiration dates; helps support production by verifying correct printed material.   

  • Verifies execution of quality procedures to ensure no contamination of the product occurs by foreign material, including brine. 

  • Understands and supports production employees with paperwork activities ensuring that paperwork is completed correctly and fully. 

  • Responsible for training and oversight of the quality activities of new employees. 

  • Supports food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. 

  • Supports temperature monitoring of locations and raw materials. 

  • Helps oversee document retention policy.  

  • Handling restoration/environmental cleaning when needed. 

  • Uses ATP swabbing to verify the effectiveness of SSOP execution. 

  • Completes project or other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS  

  • Minimum of 1 years of Food Manufacturing experience. 

  • Maintain GMPs and PPE policy while at work. 

  • Basic food safety and product quality understanding. 

  • Able to read, write and do basic math. 

  • Able to understand and execute food safety policies and regulations. 

  • Able to work independently and as a team. 

  • Able to follow specific written procedures and forms. 

  • Food production QA/QC experience preferred. 

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. 

  • Able to work as needed on the production floor and around heavy machinery. 

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
