Business of the Year Nominee: Anytime Fitness
This award is aimed at companies that have been in business for less than five years and have demonstrated innovation, creativity, and is on the path to outstanding success. To receive the award, the business must be an Elk River Area Chamber member in good standing.

How long has Anytime Fitness been in business?
Anytime Fitness opened in Elk River in 2004. They will be celebrating 16 years in business in 2020.
What inspired the start of Anytime Fitness?
Roy was hired by Anytime Fitness to install the technology that made 24/7 access to fitness clubs possible in the first 200 Anytime Fitness franchises. He and Jennifer saw the potential for this new health club model and decided to open their own franchise business.

Anytime Fitness’s investment in Elk River and the Surrounding Area:
The Muellers have built out and opened two locations in Elk River. Their original location was opened in 2004. They moved to their new location due to the demand for more equipment and space for group exercise classes. While COVID-19 pushed back their opening, the new location of Anytime Fitness opened this week (June 10th). Though capacity is currently limited to adhere to proper social distancing guidelines, people are excited to return to the gym and check out the new location. The Muellers have also invested in the community through their shared value of volunteering. Their staff regularly contributes as volunteers, especially at 5K events such as Shiver Elk River, McCoy’s 5K, and the ERX Extreme 5K.
A Little-Known Fact About Anytime Fitness:
There are 4,500 Anytime Fitness franchises worldwide and the Mueller’s were 43rd to open. They are also one of only four original franchise owners.
Looking to the Future:
The brand-new anytime location is finally open and features updated equipment. The Elk River location has launched an app and will also be expanding its services through group training once they are given the green light by state officials. All members have access to the Country Inn pool and jacuzzi, as well.
Anytime Fitness’s Involvement with the Chamber:
Jennifer has been very active with the Chamber since they opened their business. She has served two terms on the Chamber’s Board of Directors, is a Leadership Elk River graduate, the first-ever recipient of the “Big Deal Business” award, and has served on numerous committees including the Ambassadors committee. Jennifer has always been a strong advocate for connecting businesses with each other and truly believes in the value of LOCAL.
Anytime Fitness’s Involvement with the Community:
Jennifer connects to her community through volunteering in ways that matter. She has served on the Three Rivers Community Foundation Board, Trout Brook Home Association Board, and is the only civilian to serve on the Minnesota Night to Unite Committee for Elk River. Jennifer also donates her time to various fundraising efforts through the Elk River and Roger’s communities, including Relay for Life, ISD 728 Youth Baseball, the I94 West Chamber of Commerce, and her children’s school PTOs, local theater programs, and sports teams. Anytime Fitness had also adopted the Trout Brook Park for nearly 10 years.
