As we enter the summer months, many households in our community continue to experience food insecurity.

Compared with last year, the number of new families reaching out to shop at CAER Food Shelf each month has almost doubled. Increasing costs of food, gas, and housing – along with children being out of school – are challenging for families.

During the month of July, we’re hoping you can help. Financial donations made to CAER will be proportionally matched (up to $4,000) all month as part of the Open Your Heart Summer Challenge.

This is an ideal opportunity to give back while watching your generosity stretch further. Please consider a gift today at caerfoodshelf.org/donate or at CAER Food Shelf, 12621 Elk Lake Road, Elk River. Donations are accepted at CAER 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday/Wednesday/Friday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. 

Together with your support we can:
• Feed families
• Prevent homelessness and utility disconnections
• Distribute kid-friendly food for school-age youth before the weekend
• Fill backpacks with school supplies for students
• Deliver food orders to senior
