Wildflower Tour Offered at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge
Wildflowers are spectacular this year at Sherburne Refuge. Lupine, hoary puccoon, spiderwort, and penstemon are a few of the many species blooming now. Join volunteer naturalists for a guided tour of the oak savanna on Saturday, June 9. You will see and learn to identify some of the more common wildflowers. Meet for the tour at 10:00 a.m. in the parking lot by the old school house on Sherburne County Road 9, 5.5 miles west of Hwy. 169. You will go by car caravan, making a few stops for short walks to view wildflowers. The tour will end at approximately 12:00 p.m.
The tour is FREE and open to everyone. Pre-registration is appreciated, although not required. Contact the refuge to sign up for the trip. Sherburne Refuge is just 15 minutes from the communities of Zimmerman and Princeton, and 30 minutes from St. Cloud. An easy and scenic drive!
