Description
Free Guided Bird Tours at Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge
This fall, Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge invites you and your family to join us for FREE guided tours featuring two different topics: birds and wildflowers. In August, migrating bird species are passing through and many of our summer residents are preparing for their flight south.
Bird Tour on Saturday August 25, 8:00am to 10:00am, Mahnomen Trailhead
The Bird Tour will be held on Saturday, August 25 beginning at 8:00 am. Meet your guides, Refuge Volunteers Steve Chesney and Bob Janssen, at the Mahnomen Trailhead on Sherburne County Road 9, approximately 5 miles west of Highway 169. Be on the lookout for raptors, waterfowl, warblers, flycatchers, sparrows and other species. Every level of experience is encouraged to join. The hike will be approximately 1-3 miles long. Binoculars will be available to borrow.
