Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge announces the beginning of fall migration
Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge would like to announce the beginning of fall migration for the Sandhill Cranes. Attached you can find a news release about how to visit the thousands of cranes this fall. This unique occurrence draws many from the local area and beyond. Please note that the cranes are having a later start this year with the warm weather and survey counts have been paused due to the government shutdown. Elk River to host 4th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner
The Elk River Fire Foundation, Central Lutheran Church, and Royal Supply, along with community members, will host the 4th annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Central Lutheran Church on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is made possible by a donation from the Elk River Eagles #3264. Stewart Wilson of Elk River honored for 50 years in community banking
Stewart Wilson, longtime board director of The Bank of Elk River, has received the Legacy of Community Banking Award from BankIn Minnesota. The award recognizes individuals with more than 50 years of service to community banking and civic leadership. Wilson was among the 2025 honorees announced this month.
