Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced master carpenter to join our team here at Welter Construction. As the foreman for our carpentry crew, you will be responsible for managing our carpentry worksites. This position involves leading the crew on crafting, installing, and repairing various structures and fixtures according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, strong attention to detail, excellent craftsmanship, problem solving skills, and a passion for creating high-quality work.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications
  • Install structures and fixtures, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications
  • Repair or replace damaged wooden structures and fixtures
  • Lead carpentry team members, including contractors and architects, to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to client satisfaction
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition, ensuring they are safe to use
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on job sites

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of 5 years in the field
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in the construction field
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

* Welter will provide a company vehicle for transportation to and from job sites

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

  • Carpentry Management: 3 years (Required)
  • Carpentry: 5 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Elk River, MN 55330: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 100% (Preferred)
