Northstar Commuter Rail service ending on January 4th
With Northstar Commuter Rail service ending on January 4th, we’d like to share information on the replacement bus service so you can help spread the word. Starting January 5th, the Northstar corridor will have nearly 400 trips to and from downtown Minneapolis each week, compared to the current Northstar schedule with 40 trips each week, aligning service with the travel patterns of today.

Stop locations will be at existing Northstar Park & Rides (except for Fridley), with downtown Minneapolis stops on Marquette

Here is an overview of the new routes:
Route 827 (replacing Route 852), launched December 6th and travels between Fridley and downtown Minneapolis.

Every 30 minutes during weekday rush hours (6 – 9 a.m. and 3 – 6:30 p.m.) and every 60 minutes midday.

Hourly in each direction on Saturdays

The Fridley stop has shifted to East River Road
Route 888 will serve existing Northstar stops in Ramsey, Anoka, Coon Rapids starting January 5th.

Every 30 minutes arriving downtown during a.m. rush hours (6:30 - 8:30 a.m.) and leaving downtown in p.m. rush hours (3 – 5 p.m.)

Hourly trips will serve reverse commutes and provide midday travel in each direction.

Three southbound and three northbound trips on Saturdays and Sundays.
Route 882 as part of a two-year pilot, will provide weekday service between Big Lake, Elk River, and downtown Minneapolis starting January 5th.

Three southbound trips in the morning and three northbound trips from downtown Minneapolis.
