Otsego breaks ground on fire station

Otsego reached a key milestone in the formation its own fire and emergency services department on Wednesday, May 28, as officials broke ground for the city’s first fire station.

City leaders, community members, and public safety officials gathered for the ceremony at the fire station site located at the southwest corner of Odean Avenue and 75th Street.

“This is a significant and long-anticipated moment for the life of this community,” Otsego Emergency Services Director Daryl Rausch said. “Today we break ground for the future home of the Otsego Fire and Emergency Services Department. This building is far more than the beginning of a construction project. This symbolizes our city’s continued growth, resilience and commitment to protecting the people who live, work and travel here.”
