Chamber Parks Challenge 2021 Wrap Up

Chamber Parks Challenge 2021 Wrap Up

Week 4 of the Chamber Parks Challenge was (thankfully) a bit nicer weatherwise than previous weeks had been! A great variety of parks were visited in our target areas, and a wonderful variety of activities were shared – dog walking, kids playing, women training for a 5K, picking up trash for Earth Day.

At the end of Week 4, we doubled the prizes and we doubled the entries for the Grand Prize drawings. The winning photo entries for double prizes were Missy Olson and Amy O’Konek, with a bonus prize going to Ali Wallace and her canine pal Dash.

Prizes from Week 4 came from Collyard Chiropractic, Dakotah’s Doggy Daycare, The City of Elk River, and the City of Otsego Parks and Rec Department.

Our “Chamber Parks Challenge Team” met on Tuesday, April 27th to do our wrap up together. First time that we had all met each other as so much of this was done virtually. It was so wonderful to finally meet people whom we had become friends with through planning and executing this challenge. High energy in that room!

The winner of the very large Grand Prize Package was Amy Theis of Big Lake! Congratulations to Amy and her family!! They will be having a VERY FUN summer utilizing all the goodies in our prize package!

Congrats to Gloria Vande Brake and the Big Lake Chamber of Commerce and Industry for taking home the traveling trophy for this year!

The recap of the event:
148 total entries from 32 people participating from the three chambers
Elk River – 36 entries from 6 people
Princeton – 46 entries from 16 people
Big Lake – 66 entries from 10 people

A special thanks to Kim Young at Princeton Area Chamber of Commerce for developing her brainchild and including us, as well as to Kat Sarff and Lina Sadeddin at Sherburne County Area United Way for the website publishing, FB Event page, and their marketing skills. Great job!!

We hope you will all join us next year for #ElkRiverParksChallenge2022!
