Community Corrections Advisory Board

The Community Corrections Advisory Board was established in 1978 to meet one of the requirements of the Minnesota Community Corrections Act. Community Corrections is assisted by members of the community who volunteer their time to support Sherburne County Community Corrections to meet their mission statement of Enhancing Public Safety and Facilitating Client Change through Evidence Based and Restorative Practices.

Sherburne County is seeking candidates to fulfill 1 Citizen representative spot for a two-year term for the Sherburne County Community Corrections Advisory Board. This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Per statue the corrections advisory board shall actively participate in the formulation of the comprehensive plan for the development, implementation, and operation of the correctional program and services and shall make a formal recommendation to the county board or joint board at least annually concerning the comprehensive plan and its implementation during the ensuing year.
 
The Community Corrections Advisory Board meets quarterly and the meetings are at the Government Center in Elk River between 12:00p - 1:30p.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be a Sherburne County resident interested in corrections and be willing to commit to a 2-year term.

Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the Advisory Board and recommendations for appointment will be submitted to the County Board of Commissioners.
